Chinas trade volume with major countries in Latin America

China-Mexico
According to statistics from the Ministry of Commerce and Industrial Development, Mexico, from January to June, 2006, Sino-Mexico bilateral trade volume reached 11.46 billion USD, increase of 19.6% compared to the same period last year. Among them, Mexico exported 750 million USD to China, increase of 42.4%.


China- Argentina
The bilateral trade volume exceeded one billion U.S. dollars in 1997 and reached 5.125 billion U.S. dollars in 2005, an increase of 24.8% over the previous year. January-July 2006, bilateral trade volume reached 2.878 billion U.S. dollars, of which China's exports are 999 million U.S. dollars and imports are 1.879 billion U.S. dollars, a year-on-year growth rate is 10.96%, 52.8% respectively. At present, Argentina is the fourth largest trading partner of China in Latin America. China is the fourth largest export destination and third largest source of imports for Argentina. China's major imports from Argentina are soybeans, bean oil, crude oil and critter leather, copper concentrate and sand, liquefied petroleum gas, steel pipe, paper and pulp, meat. Main exports to Argentine are computer and communications technology products, motorcycles, life science products, DVD, travel equipment, air conditioners, color picture tubes and other commodities.


China- Brazil

China and Brazil established diplomatic relations over 30 years ago, bilateral economic and trade relations have witnessed rapid development. In 2005, bilateral trade volume reached to 14.817 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 20% compared to the same period last year. From January to June this year, bilateral trade volume has increased 51.2% to reach 9.224 billion U.S. dollars. China exports are 3.278 billion U.S. dollars and imports are 5.945 billion U.S. dollars. Brazil is China's largest trading partner in Latin America, and China has become the third largest trading partner and fourth largest import-export markets. China mainly export machinery and electronic products, high-tech products, garments, coal, coke, textile, automatic data processing equipment and parts; import croton products, iron ore, machinery and electronic products, pulp, aircraft, motor vehicle components, leather, steel, timber and so on.


China- Cuba
To some extent, China and Cuban economy are complementary. We import raw sugar, nickel, exports of high-tech products, Bean, color television sets and costumes from Cuban. Bilateral trade volume reached 873 million U.S. dollars in 2005. China exported 636 million U.S. dollars and imported 237 million U.S. dollars. A year-on-year growth rate is 66.8%, 93.7% and 21.6% respectively. January-July this year, bilateral trade volume reached 890 million U.S. dollars, of which exports 630 million U.S. dollars and imports 260 million U.S. dollars, a year-on-year growth rate is 85.3%,94.6% and 66.1% respectively.


China-Chile
In recent years, Sino-Chilean trade has developed rapidly; Chile has become China's third largest trading partner in Latin America. China is Chile's second largest trading partner in the world and the largest buyer of Chilean copper. According to Chinese customs statistics, bilateral trade volume reached 7.134 billion U.S. dollars in 2005, an increase of 32.9%. China exported 2.15 billion U.S. dollars and imported 4.984 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 27.32% and 35.59% respectively.
