Introduction
Panama is an international financial center and considered the gateway to Latin and South America, offering a modern, secure environment with liberal entry and visa requirements for tenants and international buyers. The Free Trade Zone, the largest in the Western Hemisphere, has traditionally been the main gateway for Asian products to Latin America.
The site proposed for the Panama Trade Center is located in Albrook, Panama City's tax free zone. It is next to the Panama Canal, to the Largest Pacific side container transshipment port and to the Transistmian railroad. The nearby submarine fiber optic international cables provide the best international communication lines in Latin America. The location is adjacent to Panama's metro international airport and next to the National bus Transportation Center, ten minutes away from the financial district and downtown and nearby quality residential areas. There are direct flight connections to Miami, New York, Los Angeles and six other US cities as well as daily non stop flights to all major cities in South America.
Preapproved plans call for construction of a one million square feet center able to accommodate 1000 companies.
